Why Somatics and Qi
Taking a Somatic approach
Somatic Movement is less about "doing" and more about "being" in movement. Rather than focussing on measurable performance and external achievements the somatic approach is more about learning how to move well . As well as improving movement and managing chronic pain, using a somatic approach to movement and exercise can help improve the relation we have with ourselves. A non judgemental and non competitive form of movement allows us to drop deeper and tune in and work with what is there , this allows learning and change to happen.
Qi
Qi is described as an energy and vitality that flows through individuals and the universe, connecting health, emotions, and nature. I have found that moving with the idea of energy flow within the body and having an energetic relationship to the natural world gives different fluid quality to my movement and my mindset.
